DisruptionsList Item 1
No matter what you do, tearing out your street and putting in a new one is going to be a little disruptive. The good news is that we work pretty fast and will be off your street with a surface you can drive on in under 2 days. There will only be a few instances when you won’t be able to get in and out of your driveway and that’s only when we’re directly in front of it or when there is cement spread between you and the travel lane. If there is, it’ll be mixed into the base shortly. But if you need to cross it right away, flag down a crew member and they’ll help take care of you.
-
NoiseList Item 2
Construction is noisy. Particularly construction that requires the use of huge machines that need to be able to take out a road. Thankfully, most of our machines have noise-buffering technologies to help reduce the amount of sound they emit. Plus, our operators are mindful of the neighborhood environment they’re in and do their best to work with a lighter hand.
-
DustList Item 3
Construction can get dirty. The main concern many people have about road reconstruction is the dust and debris that it can generate. The debris is all removed or reused. There will be some dust generated if the road surface is milled and when the lime/cement is mixed into that base. In either case, care is taken to minimize dust levels. In most cases, water is used to keep the dust in place and is mixed in with the road as we build it.

Trees
Usually when neighborhood roads are first built, there are no large trees next to the road. Of course, over time, trees are planted, trees grow, and their limbs extend into the roadway. In order for roads to be rebuilt, at least 12 feet of vertical clearance is needed at the edge of the road for machinery to safely pass. This means that overhanging limbs must be removed. How and when is determined on each job with input from homeowners, community representatives, and road maintenance officials.
